SEND
Northfields Infant and Nursery School is an inclusive school and may offer the following range of provisions to support children with SEND. Please see the School Offer (SEND Information Report) SEND policy and SEND Glossary of Terms at the bottom of this page.
Children with Special Educational Needs may need extra or different help from that given to other children of the same age in an area where they are having difficulties. The children are supported both within the classroom and in small groups as necessary. Where a formal assessment is necessary, the school will seek to support parents in this process.
Special educational needs could mean that a child has difficulties with:
- All of the work in school
- Reading, writing or number work
- Expressing themselves or understanding what others are saying
- Making friends or relating to adults
- Behaving properly in school
- A physical difficulty such as sight, hearing or mobility.
The first concern may be expressed by you the parent, or the class teacher.
It is important to talk about concerns as early as possible to make sure the right help is given to your child.
