Home School Agreement
Our Vision
At Northfields Infants and Nursery School, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is vital to ensure that every pupil reaches their full potential. This agreement outlines the responsibilities of the school, parents, and pupils in working together to create a supportive and enriching educational environment.
The School’s Responsibilities
Educational Commitment:
- Provide a balanced and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils.
- Foster a love for learning through varied and stimulating teaching methods.
- Set high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.
Communication:
- Keep parents informed about their child’s progress through twice-yearly reports and meetings.
- Communicate important information about school events, policies, and changes in a timely manner.
- Be approachable and available to discuss any concerns or questions.
Environment:
- Ensure a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
- Promote respect, kindness, and cooperation among pupils.
- Provide opportunities for pupils to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities.
Class Organisation:
- Reserve the right to adjust class sizes and, if necessary, reallocate pupils to different classes to ensure optimal learning environments.
- Communicate any changes in class assignments to parents in advance and provide information on how these changes may affect their child.
Parents’ Responsibilities
Support for Learning:
- Ensure that their child attends school regularly, on time, and is ready to learn.
- Encourage and support their child’s learning at home, including reading and completing homework.
- Attend parents’ evenings, school events and engage in discussions about their child’s progress.
Communication:
- Inform the school promptly of any issues that may affect their child’s learning or wellbeing.
- Read and respond to school communications, such as newsletters and notices.
- Ensure that contact details are up to date and inform the school of any changes.
Involvement:
- Support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour and attendance.
- Participate in school activities and events whenever possible.
- Encourage their child to respect the school’s values and follow its rules.
Pupils’ Responsibilities
Learning:
- Attend school regularly and on time, ready to learn.
- Put in effort and try their best in all school activities.
- Complete homework and other tasks to the best of their ability.
Behaviour:
- Follow the school’s rules and guidelines.
- Show respect for themselves, others, and the school environment.
- Listen to and follow instructions from teachers and school staff.
Respect:
- Be kind and considerate towards other pupils and adults.
- Take care of school property and the belongings of others.
- Work cooperatively and share with others.
We, the undersigned, agree to uphold the principles outlined in this Home-School Agreement and work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for the pupils of Northfields Infants and Nursery School.
